The GS Corsa Spring Bunny 25 race start was delayed as there had been an accident on the course, however once underway it ran smoothly. The course was the AB25/4 – Garlogie Torphins.

Alas, the recent lovely weather came to an end today, and instead the 32 competitors were faced with a wet, breezy and cold afternoon.

The rain started just after the last man was off, and continued throughout the race, which inspite of the conditions saw several excellent performances. At least it cleared up a little for the presentation.

One highlight of the race was Christine Mclean (Shetland Wheelers), who did a stormer, beating her personal best by over 6 minutes! Christine ended up fastest lady, 1st handicap and 14th overall.

As she said, the conditions were just like home – “Dreich!”.

To quote Carlos Riise (a master of understatement), “Not a nice day for it.”

A cold wind tonight for the Tri Changing Gear 10 mile TT wasn't conducive to fast times and in the circumstances all the guys under 24 mins deserved a wee accollade. Only One Left (TDF 2012 St 16)

We have had the next big mountain stage, and for Wiggo, there is only one left. Only one more day where he will be threatened, and only one more man who is a threat. Sadly, Cadel Evans’ shot at back to back Tour victories is done and dusted, if it wasn’t already. On a truly massive day, where an enormous break got away early in the stage, the defending champ was in trouble on the earliest climbs, and only worsened through the day. TDF 2012 St 16

Some cycling pundits (aye, you Ed) have said that the Spanish team had a terrible World Championships - well bronze, a fourth, ninth and fifteenth is better than any other country than I guess Australia and Russia, although Russia only had two riders in the top twenty.
