About VeloVeritas

Here at VeloVeritas, we aim to provide our readers with truthful, accurate, unique and informative articles about the sport we love. We like a good Rant now and again too of course, who doesn’t?

We cover all aspects of cycling by being there, in the mix: from the local “10” mile time trial to the world-famous professional “monuments” – classics like Milan-SanRemo and the Tour of Lombardy, to the World Championships, the winter Six Days and the Grand Tours – the Tour de France, the Giro d’Italia and the Vuelta a España.

We attend many local races as well as work on the European professional circuit. Have a look through our Archive of over 2,700 articles and 17 years of content – if you like bikes, you’re sure to find something of interest!

Jason MacIntyre – British Circuit Time Trial Champion

We make no apology for interviewing Jason MacIntyre again. It's not every day that a Scotsman pulls-on a British champion's jersey and the Fort William man did that very thing after Sunday's British circuit time trial championship near Farnborough. In second place was multiple time trial champion and fourth-placed in last winter's Commonwealth Games TT, Michael Hutchison.

Marcel Kittel won today, but yesterday, Saturday night, was sore - 4.5 hours on the road after the race then straight into the best of two falls or a submission with the motel wi-fi. Liam Beaty – Scottish 10 Mile Time Trial Champion 2018

VeloVeritas didn’t make it up to the Scottish 10 Mile Time Trial Championship at Alness. ‘No problem,’ thinks me, ‘I’ll get an interview with the winner; if John Archibald hasn’t recovered from his crash and doesn’t ride it’ll be David Griffiths or maybe Chris Smart?’ Not for the first time, I got it wrong. Liam Beaty? Is that the Hawick lad whom was second on the hill climb, last year?

We humbly ask for your help to support our dear friend and beloved colleague Ed Hood. Ed suffered a devastating stroke in February last year and faces an uncertain future.

As a result of the stroke, Ed has lost his ability to speak, and to read, and has lost movement on the right side of his body. He’s working with speech and physical therapists on rehabilitation but all strokes are different and each patient responds differently, so unfortunately recovery is one day at a time.

Ed ran his own business installing windows but will not be able to work again and his financial future is uncertain, so please consider joining us to make a contribution to the GoFundMe page to help stabilise and secure Ed's future. Thank you.
